What I’m reading right now:
- Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris. David Sedaris is my favorite author. I went to his book signing in Raleigh a few months ago. He is so entertaining and gracious. Once again, he does not disappoint in his latest collection of essays.
- Don’t Lick the Minivan: And Other Things I Never Thought I’d Say to My Kids by Leanne Shirtliffe. I had the absolute pleasure of attending a humor writing class taught by Leanne in Chicago and absolutely loved her! She is hilarious and inspires me! I wish she lived next door.
- APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur – How To Publish A Book by Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Guy in Chicago and was equally enamored with him. His wonderful and one-of a kind friend, Peg Fitzpatrick, sent me the book for FREE! I finally got a chance to start reading the book this week and am HOOKED and CONVINCED that self-publishing is the route for me. Take a second to watch this YouTube video (So You Want To Write a Novel) Guy and Shawn include in their book. It is both hysterical and alarming at the same time. For all my aspiring-to-be-published friends, do yourself a favor and read this book.
- The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears by Mark Batterson. This book explores the legend of Honi the Circle Maker, a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from it until God answered his prayers. This book encourages you to ask God your most audacious prayer – the kind he delights in answering. Your biggest dream is not too big.
